Welcome to Our Home Page

Cobb Pediatrics is a collaborative practice with Physicians and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. To better inform you, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNP's) provide comprehensive care to children by focusing on health maintenance, education, illness prevention, as well as minor and chronic illness management. PNP's are qualified to perform complete physical exams, take health histories, diagnose and treat common acute illnesses or injuries, order and interpret lab results and x-rays, and manage stable chronic illnesses, counsel clients and provide health education.

All of our Pediatric Nurse Practitioners have Bachelor's Degrees as well as Master's Degrees. They are able to prescribe medications, however current legislation requires a Physician's signature. In 49 out of 50 states, Nurse Practitioners sign their own prescriptions. Lobbying efforts are in progress to add Georgia to the other 49 states that acknowledge Pediatric Nurse Practitioners' expertise in diagnosing, prescribing and signing their own prescriptions.

The doctors of Cobb Pediatrics are board certified pediatricians and members of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The nurse practitioners are certified members of the National Association of Pediatric Nurses and Practitioners (NAPNAP) or the American Nursing Association (ANA). As pediatricians and nurse practitioners, we are dedicated to treating the illnesses of children. More importantly, we also are dedicated to promoting health, wellness and disease prevention. We believe this includes immunizing all children against vaccine-preventable serious childhood illnesses such as pertussis, polio and measles. We require our patients to receive immunizations according to the schedules currently recommended by the AAP, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Parents who choose not to immunize their children will be asked to choose another provider of healthcare for their children.

All of our Pediatric Nurse Practitioners have Bachelor's Degrees as well as Master's Degrees.
